Day 6 - Nicaragua

Buenos! Today was a sad day as we said goodbye to our translators because it's our last day of clinicals. We saw another 28+ people and a few new diagnoses. During an abdominal exam we found an umbilical hernia in a 6 year old, and in an adult we found chikeygunya, which is a curable disease but causes serious joint pain.

The locals were preparing for a big church service at 9pm to celebrate the first service of the new year. This is where we held the clinic each day

New day, new drink!

We met a lot more kids today and they weren't afraid of us!! They sat with us during lunch so we gave them and some of the hungry dogs our leftovers. Unfortunately, the caretaker of the village didn't like us giving away our food to the dogs or the people, but we don't really understand why.

I have a lot more pictures from today but they are on other people's phones so I will post them when I get them! Tomorrow is community day and we get to play games with the kids and I can't wait! Adios!
